Compassionate Conservation & Wildlife Academy

Introductory course in nature conservation & wildlife expertise

This course introduces you to the world of nature conservation. We'll explore the various ways our conservation partners are committed to protecting endangered species.

For example, our partner in Uganda is committed to gorillas. Gorillas are susceptible to diseases transmitted by humans. By improving the health of the local population of humans, the gorillas are at a lower risk of infection. And by establishing ecotourism, the local population receives income and there is now broad support among the people of Uganda for the protection of gorillas. Our partner in Malaysia takes a different approach to conservation, focusing on preserving tropical rainforest adjacent to palm oil plantations. They also conduct research into the wildlife that frequently inhabits palm oil plantations. By doing this, they raise awareness among plantation owners and work with them to find ways to achieve harmonious coexistence on the plantations and preserve adjacent rainforest.

You'll gain a sense of the possibilities in the field of nature conservation. You'll also learn a great deal about the behavior of various wild species in relation to their habitat. On the other pages, you can read more about the projects you'll hear much more about during the course. Our first course will be taught in Dutch. However, we are also developing an English course. If you cannot (yet) take the course, you can still support all projects through Cross Nature by making a donation! And if you'd like, you can visit the projects yourself! (This is not included in the course fee).

The course will be available online. You can choose to study in English or Dutch. You can ask the instructor questions and connect with fellow students via an online forum. More information about the format and costs of the course will follow soon.
